The USPC Regional Quiz rally was very successful for the Four Rivers Pony Club.
The team of Alexa Azar and Alli Shields received a Fifth place finish. They learned a few things and learned to trust
themselves. They will be ready for the competition next year.
The team of Olivia Petter, Kaitlyn Newberry and Allison Reed received a Second Place finish. They should be very proud of themselves. They missed out on First Place by only Ω point.
Allison Reed received a Second Place Individual Award. This qualifies her for the Championship Quiz in Lexington, VA in mid July 2008. We hope that she can attend and does well.
We congratulate all who participated in the USPC Regional event.
Troubles
Tangled Up in Blue, Blue has suffered some compressive spine problems. He will be going to Lexington in the near future for further diagnostic tests. We hope that these tests will allow us to treat him successfully so that he can return to his campaigning. We still believe in him.
POLICY & PROCEDURES
Although Winter has not let up on its grip just yet, our focus turns to Spring and spring cleaning. As soon as it appears that Spring is here to stay we would ask the you take your horses winter coats home for cleaning and storage.
Also, in order to keep track of your personal tack we suggest that you follow the pony club rules of making sure that your names are on all tack, blankets and all items kept at the barn.
Good Luck
We wish KENYA goodbye and good luck. We hope that he will be happy in his new home. We will miss him.
Chelsea Urhan will be acquiring a new horse in the near future. We hope that she chooses wisely and support her in her decision to more forward.
Triumphs
We all have probably heard and read the article of Hannah Leskoskys acceptance to train with Michael Poulin in Florida this spring. This is a great honor and opportunity. We continue to send her our support and hope that she will not forget us when she becomes famous.
Mary M Haugh will not be coming back for the summer. She will be working and training with Karine on her Pony Club H-A. We wish her luck and hope that she will visit us from time to time.
Our fall show was a great success. We thank everyone who participated and volunteered. A few of the highlights for or show were:
-Alexa Azar on Merry Legs received Junior Highpoint.
-Allison Reed on Wild Boy received Reserve Jr Highpoint.
-Patricia Winkles on Last Chance for Romance received Open Highpoint.
-Alli Shields on Onyx won the King Arthur Memorial.
-Also Paducah Tilghman edged out St Marys in a very competitive high school competition.
We congratulate these and all who participated in the show. It is your participation that makes our events such a fun filled day and a success.
The fall Snowbird was attended by some of our riders. Cathie Fergus rode the Reeds Romeo to a very successful 61% in TLT1 and 64.6% in TLT2. This was the first
Event for Romeo and his first time off the farm.
Pam Reed on Tennessee scored a very good 67.4% in TLT4.
The Year End KDA Awards banquet was attended by Cathie Fergus, Pam and Allison Reed. Allison was featured at the banquet. She received CHAMPION at Intro Level on Wild Boy with a 67.4% and a 4th place for Junior Training Level with a 65%. We congratulate Allison on her accomplishments. We are all very ith her riding abilities.
New Business
The Four Rivers Sport Horse Center is expanding. The entire farm will now be considered Four Rivers sport Horse Center, LLC. This will allow us to broaden our scope and abilities. Much of the acreage that is being farmed will remain so. However, we are looking into expanding our hay production abilities. This would allow us to better control our own hay production and pricing.
Also, we are looking into expanding our turnout fields. If we can create additional turnout we can rotate the turnout fields and effectively increase the days in which horses may be turned out. This would create less wear on our fields, less erosion and better field grass for the horses.
As always, when you take on additional responsibilities there will be unforeseen challenges. We must take our time and move progressively but smartly in order to not overreach our abilities.

Finally
We welcome our newest arrival on April 1, 2008. Tiche Allen and her horse SYDNEY will be joining our family. SYDNEY is a 14 yr old Chestnut Rheinlander TB cross gelding. We believe that Tiche and Sydney will be a great addition to our facility.
We welcome your suggestions and comments.
Thanks to all. Without all of you this facility would not be possible.
Sincerely,
Jill, Cathie and Don
